Social Discourse Policy
Social Media/Blog Policy
We recognize that the experiences of poverty and the issues around it can be sensitive and emotionally-charged subjects. Our purpose is to engage in meaningful, respectful conversation about issues experienced in our city and beyond. While we encourage our friends and followers to share their thoughts and opinions on our social media and blog profiles, we expect that this will be done respectfully.
The Alberta Living Wage Network does not agree with or endorse every comment that individuals post on our profiles. Our goal is to share ideas, stories, experiences, research, and resources, and we welcome conversation. It is our policy to accept the majority of comments made to our profiles in the interest of transparent discussion, awareness-raising and education.
However, we will only engage in a discussion that is fair and respectful. We encourage the open and transparent understanding of the experience of poverty in all its forms, by all people, and as such we will not tolerate language or inferences that denigrate other people, suggest the worth of a person or group or their worthiness to receive help.

If commenters consistently disrupt, distract or co-opt threads, we may block them. All links posted as comments on our posts will be reviewed and may be deleted.
Threatening language will be taken seriously, recorded and brought forward to the local police departments and applicable organizations.
Abuse of this comments policy may cause the author to be blocked from Alberta Living Wage Network accounts.
