Calgary cleaning company, Home Spritz, is committed to living wages

Yeonsil Kang, COO of Home Spritz knows the importance of paying living wages. When this Calgary-based cleaning company first introduced their living wage policy, their main goal was to recruit great staff and retain customers, but now it’s more than that.

“Living wages support the communities we work. A strong community ensures everyone is living well. We see living wages contributing to less crime and strong families, in addition to fewer people living in poverty in the city. Higher wages also increase our staff retention, and we have a high correlation between our cleaners staying and our customers staying with us,” explains Yeonsil.

Home Spritz also says that living wages can be a way to advance pay equality as cleaners are predominantly women and can often be people of colour and recent immigrants.
